stands for Wireless Access Protocol, and is more commonly referred to as "Mobile Internet". Most of today's mobile phones,
smartphones and PDA's come with a built in WAP browser.
With a WAP browser, you can access dedicated WAP pages while on the move. As WAP phones have smaller screens, contents are
often basic and rich, so pages are quite efficient and downloaded fairly quickly.

Starcomms WAP service offers a whole range of value added data applications like Ringtone, Games, Wallpaper, Truetones, MP3 tones,
Animations etc to Starcomms CDMA Mobile subscribers through their WAP and data enabled handsets. A Starcomms subscriber can access
these services by launching the WAP Client in their WAP and data enabled handset, which will take the user to default WAP homepage –
Starcomms WAP. This homepage will carry the link to the value added data application.
FUNCTIONALITIES
Downloads: This enables a Starcomms user to download contents like Polyphonic Ringtones, Wallpapers, True tones, MP3 tones, Games etc onto his Handset.
Surf: Ability to Surf other WAP sites like Yahoo, Rediff or any other WAP site.

Easy to use: This service is menu-driven; customers are not required to remember special codes and numbers.
Convenient: Customers can query for information or perform a transaction practically anywhere and anytime.
Interactive: This service allows customers to access to online information from the Internet at any time of the day and night.
Flexible: This service enables the customer to customize their wall papers, ringtones, screen savers etc. through downloads from the Starcomms WAP site.
PRICING
The contents have been divided into two categories as follows:
Free Zone:
The contents under free zone will not be charged for a limited period. This is to enable our esteemed customers understand the service as a part of our launch offer.
These contents will be available within the Starcomms WAP portal under the Free Zone menu, wherein all downloads of Wallpaper, Animations, Video, and Truetones etc will be free.
Special Categories:
The contents downloaded under special categories will be charged. The price of each content will be visible while downloading.
NOTE: Internet Browsing through the WAP is chargeable to every Starcomms customer. As part of the launch offer, it is being charged at a very nominal cost.

HOW TO ACTIVATE OR SUBSCRIBE TO STARCOMMS WAP
Access to Starcomms WAP site is Free to all Starcomms customers.
Every Starcomms "WAP enabled" Handset has access to the Starcomms WAP.The handsets have the browser through which the customer has to start accessing the service.
GETTING STARTED
To get WAP started, go to Menu > Minibrowser Option and get connected.
The First page is known as Starcomms WAP Home Page.
The home page could be slightly different for different handsets.
Use your UP-DOWN keys to navigate through the links. Click a link to Go! to the next page
On clicking you will find a small globe rotating in the right corner of the screen.
This indicates that the handset is connecting to the next page.
STARCOMMS WAP - TERMS & CONDITIONS
The price of the content download of various categories in WAP, are presently offered as introductory price, and is subject to change from time to time.
As part of the introductory offer, the internet browsing charges of 5 kobo/10Kb is applicable for accessing mobile internet site through WAP. The charges are subject to change.
Starcomms accepts no responsibility on functioning of links under Internet through WAP.
Kilobyte size of a mobile site or website is the responsibility of the service provider, not Starcomms.
Starcomms is merely providing connectivity between customers and mobile internet sites and will not be responsible for the content on any mobile internet site.
Select handsets support Starcomms WAP service.
The internet usage charges are applicable to all Starcomms WAP users having a WAP enabled handset, like – Nokia 6275, Haier D1200, Motorola K1, Motorola W385, Coolpad 288, Motorola V9M, and such other WAP enabled handsets currently available and will be made available from time to time.
