SMS 2 EMAIL

With Starcomms anyone can have email in his or her phone, i.e. with any Starcomms phone (fixed or mobile) you can now get your e-mails with the ease of an SMS and you can send a text message to one or more email addresses.

HOW DO I GET IT?

If you can send & receive an SMS from your Starcomms phone, then you can use Starcomms’s SMS2email service. It is really that simple.

HOW DOES IT WORK

Sending a message:

Open the message menu on your phone –

Simply type’ Email’ and send to a short code 33396

And get the steps to configure your G-mail, Pop-3 and MSN mails.

 Once your mail accounts are configured you can send and receive e-mails. You will also get auto alerts through SMS on your Starcomms phone, whenever a mail hits your mail box and you could read the e-mail through SMS.

 For example: -

To configure your Gmail account -

Type 'GMNEW[space]<email address>[space] <message>' and send it to 33396.

Once configured you can write a new mail by going to message menu on your phone, simply type –

 'GMNEW[space]<email address>[space]<message>'

Please note that if the message is meant for more than one email address, the addresses will be separated by a comma (,).

 

WHAT DOES IT COST?

Each messages must not be longer than 140 / 160 characters (depending upon your phone capability) ; inclusive of the keyword, recipient's email address and the body of the message.
