HOW DO I START?
The first step is to register on www.Twitter.com. You will use a user name and Pass word.

DO I NEED TO USE THE TWITTER WEBSITE TO PAIR WITH MY PHONE?
No! You don’t have to use the website to pair your phone. Rather you will take your phone and send the user name and password in SMS to TweetSMS via the short code.

HOW TO USE TWEETSMS
To use TweetSMS, users must register first. To register text REG < username > < password > to < short code >.

For example: REG JohnDoe 123456 to < short code >. Once registered, user can now post update, and get updates from your friends.

Note: Users must have an existing Twitter account. None existing account will not be processed. Your passwords are encrypted in the system so there’s no way we could see it.

HOW MUCH WILL THESE COST ME?
TweetSMS costs N10 per message request. You will not be charge for every message that you received.

HOW TO POST A TWITTER UPDATE?
To post an update, users must text POST < 140 characters update > to < short code >

For example: POST hi everyone to < short code >. Once sent, your update will be posted to your twitter account.

Note: Users must be registered first to TweetSMS before he/she can post a twitter update.

HOW TO REPLY TO A FRIEND’S TWITTER UPDATE?
To reply to a friend’s twitter update, user must text @ < username > < 140 character reply message >  to  < short code >.

For example: @Ian hey dude what’s up to < short code >

Note: To reply to a friend’s twitter update, sender must be registered first to TweetSMS and recipient of the message is being followed by the sender. Sender’s reply will be posted to the recipients twitter account.

HOW DO I RECEIVE TWEETS OR UPDATE?
Tweets are the SMS that you receive from Twitter. Every SMS that you send to the short code, either to make a POST, a direct message, a reply, a follow etc adds 4 Credits to your TweetSMS account. This means you will receive 4 FREE Tweet. If there are no credit in your TweetSMS account you will not receive further Tweets from friends until you make further Post.

I HAVE A FRIEND WHO I WANT TO FOLLOW, HOW CAN I FOLLOW A FRIEND USING MY MOBILE PHONE?
To follow a friend, user must text FOLLOW < friend’s username > to < short code >. Friend’s username must be an active and existing twitter account.

HOW DO I GET MY FRIENDS TWITTER UPDATE ON MY MOBILE PHONE?
To get a friends twitter update, user must text GET < username > to < short code >.

For example: GET Ian to . You will get 5 recent updates from your friend.

Note: when activating this feature, requester must be following the user before he/she gets a twitter update.

WHY I AM NOT GETTING MY FRIENDS TWITTER UPDATE IN REAL TIME?
Please remember that TweetSMS is a third party application that allows you to update your twitter account via your mobile phone. TweetSMS is not directly under Twitter. TweetSMS requests data from Twitter and once data is gathered, TweetSMS will push the content to the intended recipient. Delay can also be because of internet connectivity and SMS congestion. But you will get them.

HOW DO I KNOW IF MY FRIENDS ARE GETTING MY UPDATES ON THEIR PHONES?
You don't. But, if they are on your followers list, they will always receive your updates on the web. You can ask them if they are using TweetSMS. If they are using it and following you, they will get your twitter updates.

I DON’T WANT TO USE TWEETSMS ANYMORE, HOW TO OPT-OUT FROM THE SERVICE?
To opt-out, user must text STOP to < short code >.
